Pianotrone is an acoustic grand piano emulation plugin that, with the right tools, can output realistic and rich sound. The plugin is built around the Kawai 600, Yamaha C5 and C7, Steinway Model C and Bösendorfer 170 acoustic grand pianos models.
Regarding its main features, Pianotrone is capable of achieving high-quality piano sounds by sustaining full-length samples stored in 16 bits and 44.100 khz, without involving any loops.
It also sports an ADSR generator with parameters such as Attack, Decay and Release, and several modulation targets.
For users that are limited by the computer’s specs, Pianotrone will come in handy as it has optimized CPU and memory allocation, which won't affect the output quality. Overloading won’t be an issue while taking advantage of the full capabilities of this plugin.
The plugin works with host applications that support VST/VST3 like: Image-Line FL Studio, Magix Music Maker, Magix Samplitude, Cakewalk by BandLab, Cockos REAPER, Ableton Live, PreSonus Studio One, Acoustica Mixcraft, MAGIX Acid Pro, MakeMusic Finale, Avid Sibelius, Mackie Tracktion, Steinberg Nuendo, Artist and Elements, Steinberg Cubase Pro and more.
To sum it up, Pianotrone is lightweight plugin that should offer realistic and rich piano sounds directly on your system. Its compatibility with a large number of host applications adds to flexibility while its construction is intended to keep the strain off of less powerful systems.

Piano sound engine has been really good with no strange popping noises so far.
Steinway C5 and Steinway B had the most realistic sounds I’ve heard. They’re definitely “HARD”. For more “Warm” pianos I would reccomend Yamaha C7 and B-70.

Overall, really worth the price for what you’re getting. I’m getting more for my money with this plugin than I ever have with Logic.

Great work! I’d recommend this plugin to anyone who wants a nice piano sound.

But I think that this plugin can still be further developed.
The grand piano can be “visceral”… is this feature worked out?
The grand piano can be loaded with more typical DAW parameters such as tempo and key velocity?
Finally the grand piano can be triggered with more then one midi note. For example if I want to add for example a transposition on a C3 or C4.

The instruments sounds great. And the instrumentation is great for improvising. But in Logic’s key mapper there are many good and great piano and keyboard instrument sounds. And they are ready to use.

I think that for the implementation of those new features listed above the price can rise. But for only a few dollars this plugin is a great value.

it is a great plugin. I think that i can use it only with loonylemon editor. How did you achieved a realy “glove” piano (touch). I have already got the Steinway C5 and having many problems to achieve a real “glove” piano. It’s great to be able to play with it with a midi keyboard. I have only problems with

GingerAle, who has been a part of the Steinberg team for a while (and who has stated on numerous occasions that their work will be made available for free), has recently announced that they will release a standalone version of their plugin library “Steinberg Plug-in Pack 2″. Steinberg released a similar plugin pack back in 2008 (Steinberg Plug-in Pack 1).
The Plugin Pack 2 contains the following plugins:

As with the Steinberg Plug-in Pack 1, Steinberg have reportedly done a great job with the “Steinberg Plug-in Pack 2″, and it has, in fact, been one of the fastest growing plugins packages Steinberg have released in recent years.

Even though it has taken awhile for “Steinberg Plug-in Pack 2″ to actually become available to the public, GingerAle is one of the most well-known companies when it comes to instruments, and have an excellent reputation for their instruments. What better way to offer all of this for free?

Roland has announced that they will be releasing a limited edition TENORO electric piano! The TENORO features 24 weighted keys and a built in touch-sensitive sensor, alongside a full featured piano app.

The TENORO is the first piano instrument in the world that has a pixel based sensor. With this new sensor Roland is able to display 16 shades of grey in real time, which is more than the unaided human eye can distinguish. With the new gesture recognition technology the TENORO is an ideal instrument to play the piano in totally different ways than before.
This tenor piano was designed by electro-instrument manufacturing legend Noritoshi Yamahira, the director of Roland’s New Music
